Fall Dance Schedule

INTERESTED IN COMPETITION DANCE

CONTEMPORARY​/ LYRICAL

Allowing students to create their own story through their movement.  Enhancing their creativity and self expression by combining many style of dance such as jazz, ballet, modern, and hip hop.

BALLET

Improving a dancers strength, agility, flexibility, and balance.  Allowing students to become more aware of their posture, poise and body awareness.

 

Musical Theater

Broadway style dance learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and facial expressions.  Awakening the imagination, emotion, and intellect of the student actor by making him/her aware of the transforming power and universality of theater.

Make your voice sound more powerful, use vocal technique to expand your range and expression, and learn to become more confident in vocal performances.

 

 

 

AFRICAN DANCE​​​​

Students will be learning about traditional African movement and culture. Dancers can expect to explore their creativity and freedom while discovering how to use their body as a musical instrument.

​HIP-HOP / STREET​​​​

Improving rhythm, personal style and articulation through dance.  Learning popular hip hop combinations.

JAZZ

This class will be focused on using levels as well as pairing skills from ballet class with traditional jazz technique and Latin jazz. Dancers can expect an upbeat high energy class while increasing strength and musicality.

TAP

Focusing on communication through sound, and awareness through rhythm. 

Dress Code

Acrobatics & Tumbling

Execution of acrobatic movements such as rolls, ariels, twists, handsprings, or somersaults on floor mats or on the ground.

Recreational Classes

  • Ballet/Tap - Flesh colored tights and any color leotard. Pink ballet shoes & tan tap shoes.

  • Jazz/Musical Theatre- Any color tights and leotards, jazz pants, dance shorts or capris, tan/black jazz shoes.

  • Hip Hop/Acting/Vocal - Any comfortable clothing with clean tennis shoes (no street shoes and no jeans).

  • Boys - Sweatpants, shorts, t-shirts allowed.  Black tap shoes and tennis shoes for Hip Hop.

Competition Team

  • Ballet/Tap - Flesh colored tights and black leotard. Pink ballet shoes & tan tap shoes.  Hair in a bun.

  • Dress code for elective classes are flexible.

Styles of Dance

Ballroom Partnership Dance

Learn various styles of dance; Salsa, Rumba, Two Step, Swing, Disco, Waltz, Fox Trot, etc.  Group privates or individual classes are available for special events.
